Top. Geheimtipp mit super Lage und Ausstattung. Positive: Lage und Sauberkeit ist top. Preis angemessen. Negative: Etwas schwer zu finden trotz guter Beschreibung in der email, Kennzeichnung an der Straße/dem Durchgang wäre hilfreich.

Too noisy Positive: It was a beautiful property with everything you could need. Negative: It was next to the post office and at 5 in the morning they loaded metal cages and the noise was horrendous. Plus you are told to be careful of doors slamming and receiving noise complaints yet everyone in the building was slamming doors.

Positive: The interior and items in room was fantastic, very clean Negative: The twin room with single beds is not in the same apartment and this is not shown in description or pictures! Travelling with a family this isnt safe and we could not leave two young children in a bedroom down the hall, and we had to arrange alternate accomedation with family who luckly lived in the area.

Disappointing and noisy Positive: This apartment is refurbished to a high standard and beautifully decorated. It is within a stone’s throw of Battle Abbey, has lovely bathrooms with good water pressure, a beautiful kitchen and the bed in the main bedroom is extremely comfortable. Instructions to access the property are clear and work well. In Battle, we encountered very friendly people, had a delicious meal at La Napoli and lovely drinks before at Sarah’s Cellar. Negative: However, a number of issues have led to me (for the first time in my long history of being a Booking.com/airbnb guest & host) to leave a less than glowing report. These are the issues that have led to this decision: 1: The hosts sent a message instructing us to pay a £50 breakage deposit to a separate company, before they would ‘release any check in info or instructions’. This was after we had been notified via the app that we had paid in full and that the booking was confirmed. Booking.com makes it clear that guests should be aware of scams and not give bank details to anyone else. We spoke to customer services who advised us not to pay until they had investigated as this was not in the description of the property. Finally the hosts agreed to waive the deposit ‘on this occasion’. 2: Please be aware that this is a ONE bedroom apartment with a pull out sofa in the living room. The second bedroom is down the passage through a completely separate locked door. At one point along the route there is an unmarked low ceiling, that one of our party cracked his head quite badly. So if you are travelling with children or vulnerable people, you would be separated from them by two locked doors and a passage - and only one set of keys. The listing describes ‘a spacious apartment with two bedrooms’. It says nothing about the the other bedroom not being part of the apartment. 3: We found the check in instructions, when they arrived, to be rude and unwelcoming, with terms like: ‘please do NOT’ repetitively slam the door!’; please do not (k)nock on the door or disturb the neighbours. Any report of loud music or disturbance will result in a dispute with Air BnB (we booked through Booking.com), a potential suspension of your account or even fines’. ‘The wall are thin. Please DO NOT make an excess of noise, some of the neighbours have new born children, and any disrespect will not be tolerated under any circumstance.
